Death

Lock: Death / Sheol / Hades / Grave = the old-covenant prison and its ministry of condemnation. Emptied. Cast into the lake of fire (Rev 20:14). The Death that reigned from Adam was never biology. Jesus to Martha: whoever lives and believes in Him will never die (John 11:26).

Adam: “in the day you eat… you will die”

Adam did not drop as a corpse “in the day.” What happened that day was covenant rupture: exile, shame, hiding, removal from the Garden — Genesis 2:17. Death = separation from the life of God.

The Law as the ministry of Death

Paul calls the Mosaic administration a ministry of death and condemnation. “The power of sin is the Law” (1 Cor 15:56). If Death were biology, Sinai would add nothing. Sinai gave Death its legal teeth.

Wages, sting, last enemy

“The wages of sin is death” is judicial payout under condemnation, not a proverb about funerals. The last enemy is that reign. When the Law-world ended, the sting was gone. Sheol is not still an open warehouse.

Resurrection

Resurrection is the corporate migration from the Body of Moses to the Body of Christ — terrestrial order to celestial order (1 Cor 15:40–49). Full study: The Covenantal Resurrection.

AD 70

The Temple administration that prosecuted covenant transgression was publicly removed. Death’s reign as verdict and exile ended with that world.

When a believer’s breath stops

Union is not interrupted. Sheol is not waiting. Condemnation is not reopened. “You will never die” is the sentence, not a metaphor for coping with mortality.
