Matthew 5’s “heaven and earth passing” sits inside a sentence about the Law being fulfilled. That is the clue.
Isaiah 51 calls the Sinai people “heaven and earth.” Isaiah 13 and 34 darken sun and stars over cities and orders. Hebrews 12 says the shaking removes what can be shaken so the unshakable remains.
Jesus says until heaven and earth pass, not one stroke of the Law falls; then He says He came to fulfill. Matthew 24 later uses the same pair for the old order’s collapse.
AD 70 is when that old heaven-and-earth — temple, priesthood, sacrifice, genealogical gatekeeping — was taken out of the way as a public system.
You live in the unshakable order. The garment that wore out was the old world, not the Creator’s sky.
