Living as a New Creation

Kainē Ktisis — Inhabiting the Fully Realized New Covenant Age

Also available in Traditional Chinese (繁體中文) — Hong Kong & Taiwan

To live as a New Creation (Kainē Ktisis) is to inhabit the fully realized reality of the New Covenant age. From a Covenantal Fulfillment perspective, the “New Creation” is not a reformed physical universe created after the destruction of the earth, but the new covenantal world order inaugurated by Christ and fully established when the Old Covenant temple system passed away in AD 70.

Where the Old Covenant was defined by distance, physical rituals, legalistic striving, and spiritual death in Adam, New Creation living is defined by unbroken union, finished righteousness, and the active reign of the Spirit within.

1. The Covenantal Shift: From “Old World” to “New World”

To understand New Creation living, we must understand what “passed away” and what “became new.”

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” — 2 Corinthians 5:17

2. Key Pillars of New Creation Living

Living in this fulfilled reality radically transforms how a believer views God, identity, and daily life.

I. Identity Rooted in Finished Work (No Longer Striving)

Old Age Mindset
Trying to achieve God’s favor through moral performance, rituals, or constant self-recrimination.
New Creation Mindset
Resting in Christ’s finished work (Hebrews 10:14). Righteousness is not something earned; it is an intrinsic part of the believer’s identity in Christ.

Living It Out: Operating from a place of rest rather than anxiety. You do not work toward acceptance; you live from a state of complete acceptance and oneness with God.

II. Walking as the Living Temple

Old Age Mindset
God’s presence is localized in a physical building or accessible only through special mediators and holy sites.
New Creation Mindset
The physical temple was a shadowy type; the church—the body of believers—is the true, eternal temple of God (1 Corinthians 3:16; 1 Peter 2:5).

Living It Out: Practicing continual awareness of the Divine Indwelling. Every interaction, place, and daily task becomes sacred space because you carry the presence of the Holy Spirit wherever you go.

III. Kingdom Dominion in the Present

Old Age Mindset
Waiting for a future, far-off political reign while viewing the present world as entirely abandoned to darkness.
New Creation Mindset
Recognizing that the Kingdom of God is a present, spiritual reality reigning now (Luke 17:21; Romans 14:17). Christ is currently seated on the throne, having defeated sin and death (spiritually and covenantally).

Living It Out: Exercising kingdom authority—bringing peace, healing, reconciliation, and light into culture, families, and communities today rather than adopting a posture of defeatism.

IV. The Ministry of Reconciliation

Old Age Mindset
Division, nationalism, and legalistic boundaries separating people into clean and unclean.
New Creation Mindset
As Paul writes in 2 Corinthians 5:18–19, God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and giving us the message of reconciliation.

Living It Out: Viewing humanity through the lens of Christ’s victory rather than covenantal alienation. New Creation believers actively bridge divides, show radical love, and invite others to step into the realized light of the New Covenant.

3. Comparing the Old Age vs. New Creation Reality

Aspect The Old Covenant Age
(Passing Away)
The New Creation Age
(Fulfilled & Present)
Locus of God’s Presence Physical Temple in Jerusalem The Believer / The Spirit-filled Body
Status Before God Distance, veil, guilt, physical sacrifices Unbroken Oneness, open access, complete forgiveness
The “Law” Written on tablets of stone (external requirement) Written on the heart (internal divine nature)
Primary Lens Looking forward to the promised Messiah Living out of Christ’s accomplished victory
Atmosphere Fear of judgment, bondage to law Peace, joy, and freedom in the Holy Spirit

Summary

New Creation living means waking up every day to the reality that the veil has been torn forever. You are not living in the “last days” of an old covenant age, waiting for a delayed redemption; you are living in the unending age of the New Covenant, fully united with God in Christ, empowered to reflect His nature, peace, and reign to the world around you.
