Living Waters

The River of Life

Zechariah 14:8 describes "living waters" going out from Jerusalem to both the eastern and western seas, flowing in both summer and winter. This represents a constant, supernatural supply of life that is independent of seasonal rainfall or physical cisterns.

The Indwelling Spirit

Jesus fulfilled this promise by identifying the "living water" as the Holy Spirit. He declared that whoever drinks of the water He gives "will never thirst," and it will become in them "a well of water springing up into eternal life" (John 4:14). In the New Creation, the Church is the spiritual Jerusalem from which these waters flow, bringing healing and life to the nations through the Gospel.
